Photo Contest Prize Updates
As we get ready to kick off our third year of photo contests this April, we’re making a few small changes to our contest prize packs.
The main purpose of the Potography monthly photo contest is to help cannabis photographers connect with, support, and challenge each other through friendly competition. As our way of saying thank you and offering our own form of support to our community, we print the winning images from each contest on hemp-based fine art paper and we send the prints to our monthly photo contest winners.
We love running the contest and deeply appreciate the close to 200 members who have joined us over the last 2 years! It’s a big part of why we’re happy to give away so much free stuff.
That said, in order to make sure we can continue operating this contest for many years to come, we feel it’s important to focus our limited resources on growing our community base and facilitating more ways to connect with each other.
For this reason, we’re making some minor adjustments to the prize packs for our monthly photo contest winners. You can read about these changes below or in the updated Contest Rules.
Prize Pack Update: Prints
Starting with our March 2022 contest, photo contest prizes will be changing.
All contest winners will continue to receive one free hemp print featuring their winning image. While all winners will still receive at least one hemp print, we’ll no longer be including extra hemp prints for our first and second-place winners.
This means that each winner will receive a total of one hemp print along with the usual random assortment of Potography Swag.
First place winners will receive an 8.5″ x 11″ print (or similar size), second place winners will get a 5″ x 7″ (or similar) print, and third place winners will receive a 4″ x 6″ (or similar) print as usual.
First-place winners will have the option of requesting either two 5″ x 7″ prints or three 4″ x 6″ prints instead of one 8.5″ x 11″ print. This request can be made via email or direct message on Instagram and must be made no later than the first of the month following the contest month (the day winners are announced, which is usually the day we print the winning images).
Prize Pack Update: Coupons
In lieu of the extra prints, we’ll be giving each winner an exclusive discount code for our online shop, which will remain valid for one full month. First place winners will receive a 50% off coupon, second place winners will receive a 25% off coupon, and third place winners will receive a 10% off coupon. All coupons will include free shipping.
We’re still perfecting our coupon system, so for now winners will need to reach out to us to request their coupons. Winners will have the entire month following their win to request their coupons, and then another 30 days after that to use the coupon. This means that if you win the March contest, for example, you can request your coupon as late as April 30th, and then use it any time in the month of May. Closing Thoughts
We hope to grow enough in 2022 that we can return to showering our winners with hemp prints and add even more dope prizes in 2023. In the meantime, though, hemp prints are always available to purchase via our online store.
