Introducing Cannabis Photographers by Potography: The Facebook Group for Cannabis Photographers
At Potography, we’re always looking for new ways to support our community of cannabis photographers.
That’s why we’re excited to announce our new Facebook group, Cannabis Photographers by Potography!
The purpose of the group is to make it easier for our community to connect with each other in a more direct and collaborative way.
The group will serve as a networking and educational resource for the community, where members can share their favorite cannabis photography tips, tricks, techniques, and more.
We’d also love to see members posting about job opportunities or the next event they’re attending, whether it’s cannabis-related, photography-related, or (our favorite) both.
Finally, we hope the group will become a source of daily inspiration and positivity, whether that comes in the form of networking, education, or your regular dose of dank cannabis photography memes (it’s not a meme group, but the occasional, particularly relevant cannabis photography meme will be embraced lovingly).
All contest winners, professional photographers, and aspiring professional photographers are encouraged to join, and we’ve set up moderately strict filters for group members so we can ensure the group attracts only those who take the art of cannabis photography seriously.
No marketers, scammers, spammers, or trolls.
Why Facebook?
Creatives from almost every field already use Facebook groups to share information and learn from each other, and we’ve always thought it would be cool to have a Facebook group for cannabis photographers. Since there wasn’t one already, we decided to make our own!
As a platform, Facebook serves our needs well and allows us to focus on the community more than managing the platform. We are continuing to develop our website as the community grows, but we think it makes sense to utilize the group functions offered by Facebook in the meantime.
Along with moderating membership and posts, the Potography team will be sharing news, helpful resources, and other content curated specifically for cannabis photographers. We may even launch our own mentorship program from within the group (another Facebook feature), which we think could be a valuable resource for our community (let us know what you think in the comments section below! Would you want a Potography Mentor/Mentee?).
Finally, Facebook allows all of our members to easily share videos, articles, and events from thousands of different sources, all in one place. This helps us keep tabs on where the community is focusing its attention so we can organize more cool stuff for our members.
If, for example, we notice a big portion of our community is planning to attend a particular event, then maybe we’ll put together something special for the members who attend (Potography meetups coming in 2022!).
