We have some updates from our friend Max in Ukraine
For those who don’t know, Max is the developer behind the software that powers our monthly photo contest. Max lives in Ukraine and, as everyone knows, Ukraine is currently under invasion from Russia.
Max and his wife have started a small charity to help the elderly and families with young children in his city.
He told us explosions and shelling are mostly happening on the outskirts, but it’s still not safe for everyone to go shopping for basic goods and many stores in the city are closed.
You can visit his website to learn more about the charity and how to donate.
From his website:
“My name is Maxim Kaminsky. My wife, son and I live in the city of Mykolaiv in Ukraine, which is currently under attack by Russian forces. We have received many messages and requests for help from families with young children in our city who need essential supplies but are unable to get them as they have no money or because many stores are closed. Many older people in the city are also unable to get what they need to survive for the same reasons, and because it is dangerous for them to travel through the city to find what they need.
Therefore, my wife and I have decided to set up this charity to raise funds to help these people. 100% of the funds raised will go towards purchasing baby food, diapers, medicines, and other essentials for families with young children, and medicines and supplies for the elderly. My wife and I, along with other volunteers, will find stores in the city that are still open and deliver the goods to those in need.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully received, and will help the most vulnerable – babies, young children, and the elderly – survive this dreadful war.
Thank you.”
Please visit Max’s website to donate, and please keep him, his family, and his neighbors in your thoughts.
Thanks, everyone.
