March 2023 Photo Contest Winners
It’s time to announce the winners of our March 2023 photo contest, which marks the end of three years of contests powered by a constant flow of amazing entries from our talented community!
We’re deeply grateful to all our members and contest participants whose passion and dedication have made this milestone possible, and we can’t wait to see what our community looks like in another 3 years.
As usual, we were blown away by the exceptional talent displayed by the entries we received for our March photo contest so, without further ado, let’s introduce our winners for this month:
Third Place: Jessica from @dcpremierfarms
Sherbert GMO
Jessica, Marketing Director for DC Premier Farms based in Oklahoma, is no stranger to our platform. She first joined us in 2022 and quickly made a name for herself by winning the May 2022 photo contest. Her dedication to the cannabis community and her keen eye for cannabis photography has made her a cherished member of our contests.
Specializing in cannabis marketing, Jessica (@dcpremierfarms) has a knack for capturing striking and memorable images. Her winning entry, Sherbert GMO, is a stunning combination of product, plant, and macro photography. It showcases a jar full of Sherbert GMO flowers beautifully cultivated by the team at DC Premier Farms, and the vivid colors and intricate details captured in the photo are a testament to the growers’ skill and dedication along with Jessica’s talent behind the camera.

Second Place: Jessica from @dcpremierfarms
Runtz
Jessica’s second-place winning entry, Runtz, is another example of DC Premier Farms’ growing skills perfectly paired with Jessica’s photography skills. This photo is a true macro shot with a focus on a beautiful, ripe, and trichome-coated bud. The dark purple leaves are almost black and contrast nicely with the white trichomes and amber pistils, making for a stunning composition.
Jessica’s ability to capture the intricate textures and colors of the plant is truly remarkable, and her unique perspective serves to bring out the true essence of every plant she photographs. This photo in particular is a testament to her talent and dedication to the art of cannabis photography.

White Truffle
Jessica has not only been a welcomed participant in our contests since she first joined in 2022, but it’s now safe to say she’s established herself as a formidable talent. As the winner of the May 2022 photo contest and now all 3 spots in our March 2023 photo contest, Jessica continues to inspire and amaze us with her dedication to the art of cannabis photography.
Her first-place entry, White Truffle, is a breathtaking live plant portrait of White Truffle, a strain expertly grown by DC Premier Farms. The image was taken from above in a technique known as “top-down photography”. This approach allows viewers to appreciate the natural symmetry of the cannabis plant, which is particularly striking in this photo.
Along with providing a bird’s-eye view of the plant, the photo highlights the intricate details that are too often missed by the end consumer, from the delicate trichomes on the flowers and sugar leaves to the subtle color variations on the fan leaves. Overall, the top-down perspective adds a unique and captivating element to the photo, drawing the viewer in to appreciate the beauty of the plant from a new angle.

Closing Thoughts
We’d like to once again extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the photographers who participated in the March 2023 contest and the 35 (!) other monthly photo contests we’ve hosted since 2020. As always, each entry showcased outstanding creativity and skill, and we were truly inspired by your passion for cannabis photography.
Congrats again to Jessica @dcpremierfarms on the wins and a special shoutout goes to first-time contestant @spacementcloud, whose unique perspective and fresh talent brought an exciting new dynamic to the competition. We’re eager to see what fantastic images you’ll each submit for the next contest!
