August 2020 Photo Contest Results
The people have spoken!
Our August photo contest results are here, and for the first time since we started the contest in April, we have a first, second, and third place sweep! On top of that, the winner is our returning champion from July, @NSD420!
So, first, congrats to Nature’s Sweetest Dank for the historic win — the Potography Team is grateful to have you in our community!
Quick Housekeeping Update
Over the last several months, we’ve kept this community small while focusing on building out the backend of our platforms — we want to ensure we’re building something that serves our community well and, for this reason, we haven’t been promoting our existence very far and wide.
As a result, many contest participants and winners have been familiar faces.
But even though our community is small, we’ve seen a steadily growing number of entries and/or votes each and every month since launching, and we’re just about ready to shift our focus toward growing and expanding our audience.
We’ll be making another announcement soon with a sneak peek at some of our plans…
There’s so much more to come!
In the meantime, thank you to all of those familiar faces we see returning each month, and also to those joining us for the first time. We appreciate your support and are excited to be sharing this vision with you all.

Back to our August 2020 photo contest results…
As we already mentioned, the August 2020 contest marks the first time we’ve seen a first, second, and third place sweep by one artist. The artist who pulled this off goes by @NSD420 or @_nature_sweetest_dank on Instagram, and is otherwise known as Nature’s Sweetest Dank (NSD). We love the unique flavor NSD brings to our community, and it’s great to see you all showing him so much love.
Third Place: @NSD420
Wedding Cake aka Diamond Cake by DIAMONDFIRE
NSD snagged third place with his closeup shot of Wedding Cake (aka Diamond Cake) by DIAMONDFIRE. This shot highlights the purple hues and bright white trichome production so often found in the “cake family” of strains. This is definitely one of our favorite terp profiles to enjoy and NSD did a great job of capturing its magic in photo form.
Second Place: @NSD420
Bubble Gum Gelato by BackPackBoyz
In second place, NSD captured a sweet macro shot of a single Bubble Gum Gelato bract. The sample photographed was cultivated by BackPackBoyz and is absolutely coated in trichomes. The shot reveals orange-colored stigmas protruding from the resin-coated bract, which thoroughly enjoys the spotlight in front of a pinkish and blurred background that adds eye-pleasing contrast.

First Place: @NSD420
Strawberry Lemonade by CannaBiotix
The winning photo of the month is a very similar style to the second place winner but features a different strain and brighter mix of colors. The strain in this photo is Strawberry Lemonade by CannaBiotix, and it almost looks like someone dumped strawberry lemonade powder mix right over these buds!
NSD’s winning photo shows a beautiful bright green bract covered in amber, clear, and cloudy trichomes. Like the second place winner, this photo incorporates a blurred-out pinkish background that provides excellent contrast against the bright green and frosty buds.
Well done and congrats again to NSD!
Final thoughts
Don’t forget: our September contest has been pushed back one day and will now be open for entry beginning TOMORROW, September 2nd. Please check back between tomorrow and the 21st to enter— voting will begin on the 22nd (as usual).
